Calls placed beyond these hours will be answered by our answering service. They relay messages to our on-call staff only, and you may not receive a return call from our staff until the following business day.
AmeriCare Mobility Van Inc. observes the following holidays and will be closed, however, transportation may still be available, please call well in advance for transportation on the following days. New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.

The following are frequently asked questions:
Q: Does Medicare/Disability Benefits/SSI pay for transportation?
A: No, it is best to call us and we can check for any other options you may qualify for.
Q: Can I call the same day for a ride?
A: Yes, but we may not be able to accommodate your request. Please call with as much notice as possible.
Q: Do you transport on Nights, Weekends, or Holidays?
A: Yes, but these services are limited. Please call for availability and more information.
Q: Do you provide stretcher transport?
A: No, not at this time.
Q: Do you assist getting wheelchairs up and down stairs?
A: No, because of safety concerns for both our driver and the client, we do not.
Q: Do you transport to the Emergency Department?
A: No, we are NON EMERGENCY. Please CALL 911 if you need emergency transport.
Q: Do you provide wheelchairs?
A: Typically no, many vans do not have room to safely store them. It is best to have your own, or rent one for the ride.
Q: Can I use my transport wheelchair that I bought at the drug store?
A: No, even though it says “Transport” in the name, they are not safe to ride on in vehicles.
Q: Will you transport all my family members belongings with them to their new place of residence?
A: No, we will take a small bag or 2. Anything more is too dangerous to have in the vehicle.
Q: Can family or a care give ride with?
A: Yes, and there is no charge for that, but any more than 1 rider would need prior approval.
Q: Do you provide car seats?
A: No, our vans cannot store extra car seats in them, you need to provide your own for children under 8 years old.
Q: Will you wait for me while I’m in my appointment?
A: Typically no, you should call when you are done and we will dispatch a driver to you ASAP.
Q: Do you rent vans?
A: No, we do not.
Q: Will you transport to a Wedding, Funeral, picnic or graduation?
A: Yes, we will transport to any social event, or even to see the old family farm, simply call for availability.
